Dial-A-Ride

Effective January 1, 2020, RCTA requires all new Dial-A-Ride users to submit a completed ADA Paratransit Application for Eligibility.

All applications will be evaluated for eligibility under ADA public transit eligibility criteria. Applicants who are deemed eligible will be issued RCTA ADA ID cards and can utilize DAR at ADA fares. Other applicants can still use DAR, but will pay the higher, General Public fare ($5). If you have NOT ridden RCTA DAR since 2018, download and complete the application and mail or drop off the application at RCTA, 140 Williams Drive, Crescent City, CA 95531. Applications must be submitted in advance of any desired DAR travel, to allow time for application processing.

Services for Passengers with Disabilities

Redwood Coast Transit accommodates passengers whose disabilities prevent them from using fixed route buses some or all of the time, with other options: local paratransit “Dial-A-Ride” service in the Crescent City area, and route deviation “flex stops” on regional bus routes within Del Norte County.

In locations where Dial-A-Ride service is not available, “Flex stop” service is available within ¾ mile of Redwood Coast Transit routes within Del Norte County. To request a flex stop, check the bus schedule for approximate times that bus routes operate in your area; then call (707) 464-6400 to make a reservation. To be sure that you can ride when you would like, please make your reservation at least one day prior to the day of service. “Flex stop” requests made on the day of service are subject to space and schedule availability.

Redwood Coast Transit accepts as proof of paratransit eligibility the RCT ADA Paratransit Certification ID Card and equivalent cards issued by other U.S. public transit agencies.

All RCT buses are wheelchair lift or ramp equipped.

If you have a hearing disability, please contact RCT through California Relay Service at 1-800-735-2929.

Call 707-308-7433 (RIDE) to Schedule Dial-a-Ride

Wheelchair accessible door-to-door service is available throughout the Crescent City area. Please call for a reservation 1 to 7 days before you desire to travel. Advance scheduling allows RCTA DAR to function as efficiently as possible, improving reliability and helping you to arrive on time.

Dial-A-Ride operates the same general hours as RCTA Crescent City Fixed Route buses, effective June 5th, 2022 DAR operates from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, and 8:00am to 5:00pm on Saturdays and Holidays.
