Holidays
No Service
RCT does not operate any service on New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, nor Christmas Day.
Saturday Service
RCTA operates Saturday Service on the following holidays: MLK Day, President’s Day, Juneteenth, Veterans Day,and the Day after Thanksgiving.
Accessibility
RCT has designed its service to comply with the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act. All buses are wheelchair lift or ramp equipped. For additional information, please call 707-308-7433 or use the California Relay Service for TDD.
Carry-On Items:
Limit carry-ons to the size and number you can easily handle. Limit: 4 packages up to 25 lbs each. Assistance is available for seniors and persons with disabilities. No flammable or hazardous items, garbage, or recycling.
Luggage
Redwood Coast Transit accepts luggage only on Route 20 between Eureka and Smith River. A maximum of two luggage items (excluding carry-on items and bicycles) is allowed per passenger. Luggage items must be limited to a maximum of 50 lbs. each and must fit within the luggage compartment door dimensions. It is recommended that passengers call for details for luggage items measuring larger than 30″ x 40″ X 24″.
Bicycles
RCT route buses are equipped with bicycle racks that will accommodate two or three bicycles per bus on a first come, first served basis.
Food and Drinks
To keep our buses clean, open food and drinks are not allowed on the bus. Travel mugs and sipping cups with tight fitting lids are okay.
Lost and Found:
If you lose something on the bus, call us at 707-308-7433. Tell us the date and time you lost the item, the route (or Dial-A-Ride), and a complete description of the article. Be sure to call us if you find something, too.
Animals
Service animals are allowed on the bus. Other small animals in carriers may be allowed if pre-arranged. Call 707-308-7433 for more information.
Conduct
Redwood Coast Transit Authority reserves the right to refuse service to anyone. To ensure a pleasant experience for all passengers, RCTA has adopted a Rider Code of Conduct that establishes a suspension of service process for those who violate RCTA policies. Evasion of fare payment, smoking, loud music, boisterous or unruly behavior, or willful disturbance or others is strictly prohibited (California PUC Sec. 640).
