Short-Range Transit Plan

Introduction

The Short-Range Transit Plan (SRTP) is a plan that helps guide Redwood Coast Transit Authority (RCTA) for the next five years. The plan is in two parts. The first part looks at how things are right now, including the transit system, how people are involved, and what they think. The second part will use this information to make a new plan for the next five years, focusing on improving services, managing resources, and promoting the transit system. Then both parts are assembled, along with the latest financial information for an Operations Plan and Capital Plan, with a financially constrained (based on existing funding) and unconstrained (all projects, regardless of available funding) set of alternatives evaluated for cost and expected ridership impacts. This Draft Final SRTP is now ready for public review and comment (see below).

Plan Overview

The plan has evaluated how people use public transportation in the area, and ways to make connections better for people in the county. Now that the Draft Final SRTP is ready for public review and comment, community members will be asked to provide their thoughts on the alternatives developed, with particular focus on the financially constrained model. Please take some time to download the Draft Final SRTP, review, and share your thoughts at this critical juncture before the plan is presented to the RCTA Board of Directors in October and then for adoption in November or December. Your input is important, and you can provide your comments on the Draft Final SRTP via the RCTA comment form.
